First Announcement and Call for Papers

 The Scientific Council of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) on Radio-Physics and Microwave Electronics, IEEE AP/MTT/ED/AES/GRS/NPS/EMB Societies East Ukraine Joint Chapter and Young Scientists Council of the A.Ya. Usikov Institute for Radiophysics and Electronics (IRE) NASU announce a two-day Workshop on Applied Electrodynamics of High-Tc Superconductors and Microwave Electronics. The Workshop will be hosted by IRE NASU on 22-23 May 2003 in Kharkov – the leading scientific center and the second largest city of Ukraine.

 Scientific Program: The Workshop program will accommodate invited-paper oral sessions and poster sessions on microwave electromagnetics of HTS, vortex dynamics, new HTS – MgB2,, microcontact and tunnel HTS spectroscopy, microwave characterization of HTS, transport properties of high-Tc superconductors, phase transitions in superconductors and microwave HTS-based devices and circuits. We welcome poster contributions from young scientists (under 35) to any of the above-mentioned fields. Preliminary list of invited talks is as follows:

 Duration of invited talks is about 30 minutes. The working language of the workshop is English. Participants of poster sessions will be given the space equivalent to A0 format. Contributors are requested to submit a ½ – 1-page abstract indicating affiliation, postal address, telephone, fax and e-mail by 15 May 2003. The registration fee is $150 paid upon arrival during the registration, which covers the admission, workshop materials, coffee breaks, and banquet.
