Sergey S. Ponomarenko was born in 1989 in Feodosiya, Ukraine. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Radiophysics from the Karazin National University in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 2010 and 2011, respectively. His research interests include vacuum electron devices such as clinotrons and gyrotrons, microwave spectroscopy and microwave and terahertz technologies. From 2011, he takes Ph.D. position in physical electronics with Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, Kharkov, Ukraine.

Sergey A. Kishko was born in 1989 in Gorlovka, Ukraine. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Radiophysics from the Karazin National University in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 2010 and 2011, respectively. His research interests include vacuum electron devices such as clinotrons and gyrotrons, electronic circuits and microwave and terahertz technologies. From 2011, he takes Ph.D. position in physical electronics with Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, Kharkov, Ukraine. Mr. Kishko is a Member of the Optical Society of America.

Eduard M. Khutoryan (M’10) was born in 1979 in Kharkov, Ukraine. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Radiophysics from the Karazin National University in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1999 and 2000, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in 2011 in Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of NASU, Kharkov, Ukraine (IRE NASU). From 2000 till 2009 he was an engineer and junior researcher in department of theory of diffraction and diffraction electronics at IRE NASU and was involved in the development of novel orotrons and clinotrons in millimeter and submillimeter ranges as well as semiconductor based devices on Smith-Purcell effect. He is scientific researcher at IRE NASU, author of more than 20 scientific papers. His research interests include terahertz and millimeter sources and their applications.

Alexei N. Kuleshov (M’04) was born in 1978 in Kharkov, Ukraine. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Radio Physics from the Karazin National University in Kharkov, Ukraine, in 1999 and 2000, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in 2010 in Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of NASU, Kharkov, Ukraine. From 2000 till 2010 he was junior researcher of Vacuum Electronics Department of IRE NASU and was involved in development and design of medium power microwave and THz sources based on Cherenkov mechanism and also low-voltage devices of MCR type. His research interests include low-voltage medium power microwave and THz sources and their applications. He is scientific researcher at IRE NASU, prize-winner of Kharkov Regional State Administration research grant and many Int. Conferences awards, author of more than 25 scientific papers and 1 USA patent.

Boris P. Yefimov was born in 1933 in USSR. He received the M.S. degree in Radioelectronics from the Kharkov Aerospace University, Ukraine in 1959. He received the Ph.D. degree in 1970 and Doctor of Technical Science in 1988 in Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of NASU, Kharkov, Ukraine He is senior scientist at IRE NASU. He has been the author or co-author of over 200 published journal articles and chapters and has over 25 USSR patents and 1 USA patents. He has a strong experience in development of resonance backward wave oscillators in millimeter and THz ranges, and their application in radar, plasma diagnostics and spectroscopy. He is an inventor of dynamic chaos noise oscillators with very high spectral power density in mm range.

Viktor V. Zavertanniy was born in 1946 in USSR. He received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Kharkov Technical University, USSR in 1971. Since 1991 he is a head of Vacuum Electronic Tube Serial Production Department of IRE NASU that after 1995 becomes a part of Vacuum Electronics Department. The department is responsible for developing and designing medium power, broadband microwave and THz vacuum electromagnetic sources. He is a chief engineer of Vacuum Electronics Department of IRE NASU, has been author and co-author of over 25 scientific papers and more than 20 USSR patents and 1 USA patents. His research interests include vacuum tube technology, magnetic focusing system design, electronic optics, development and design of terahertz and millimeter sources.

Alexander F. Zabrodskii - was born in 1948 in Kharkov, he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics in 1971. After graduating the HIRE he works in the IRE NASU as a leading engineer of vacuum electronics.

Lyudmila A. Kirichenko - was born in 1934 in Lyubotin Kharkov region, she graduated from the Kharkov National University in 1957. After graduating from the KhNU she operates in the IRE NASU as a leading engineer. The author of the patent "Diode electron gun for the formation of the thin ribbon electron beams" (co-authored with A. Borodkin, I.A. Knizhenko, etc.).

Tatyana V. Kudinova - was born in 1945 in Kharkov, she graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics in 1970. After graduating the HIRE she works in the IRE NASU as a leading engineer of vacuum electronics.
