Abstract
The method of magnetomotive forces is applied to determine characteristics of a transverse slot cut in the external conductor of a coaxial line which provides an analysis within a broad range of wavelengths including the multimode regime. Amplitudes of spatial harmonics in the distribution function of the tangential electric field component across the slot surface are investigated. The radiation and reflection factors of the slot are analyzed in dependence on the slot sizes, geometrical parameters of the coaxial line and permittivities of the dielectric materials filling the interior and exterior regions of the coaxial line

KEY WORDS:transverse slot, coaxial line, fundamental mode, multimode regime, power coefficients
