Abstract
A problem of automatic recognition and classification the moving ground radar targets by using time-frequency distributions (TFDs) evaluated for the non-stationary backscattered signals is considered. Results of experimental investigations performed by coherent Doppler radar operating in the millimeter range of wavelengths and continuous mode are represented. Comparative analysis of automatic target recognition (ATR) system performances is executed for the target classification features extracted from several types of TFDs formed by different techniques and for different making decision rules. The benefits provided by bispectrum-based estimation of the fine structure in the backscattered signals are demonstrated.
KEY WORDS: bispectrum, time-frequency distribution, automatic target recognition
