Abstract
The influence of fluctuations in the turbulent troposphere upon the interferometer measurement accuracy of radio wave angles of arrival is analyzed as applied to the problem of estimating the refraction properties of the troposphere. A mathematical model of the interferometer has been developed to analyze its characteristics by the Monte-Carlo method. It is shown that phase front fluctuations of the wave incident upon the interferometer antennas are quite tolerable to allow estimating the angle of arrival with an accuracy sufficient for calculating the integral gradient of the refractive index along the path even in the case of a strongly turbulent troposphere deviation ?N = 10 N-unit).
