ON QUALITY OF TM0nq ELECTRICAL EIGENMODES OF AN OPEN RESONATOR WITH SPHERICAL MIRRORS

Abstract
The paper presents numerical experiment results for properties of axially-symmetric electrical-type eigenmodes of a spherical-mirror open resonator (OR). An effect has been revealed and studied that the diffraction quality of the fundamental mode drops or rises by one to two orders of the magnitude depending on OR geometrical parameters. The existence of degeneracy points of OR eigenmodes in the complex plane is proved.
