Excitation of Whispering Gallery Modes in an Anisotropic Sphere Illuminated by a waveguide Radiator Field

Abstract
The excitation possibilities and features of whispering gallery modes in a spherically shaped leuco sapphire resonator placed in the waveguide radiator field have been experimentally studied. The most effective excitation conditions of a uniaxial-anisotropy spherical resonator have been determined.
