Abstract
The present paper describes the results from the study into an autodyne 8-mm wave “transmit-receive module”, otherwise called a transceiver for a short-range linear FM radar sensor. This module is designed to measure the range of objects (targets) and their velocity. The transceiver is built around the Gunn diode with varactor frequency tuning capabilities. The internal signal detection is performed using a current sensor in the Gunn diode power supply circuit. The above system serves the purpose of employing the methods for digital generation of a radiated signal, spectral processing and digital frequency-difference signal filtering.

KEY WORDS: FMCW self-mixing transceiver, Gunn diode, mm wave band, spectral processing, digital filtering
