Abstract
Modulation of the electromagnetic field in a time varying linear medium is investigated using a model process which allows an exact solution. In is shown that dynamic chaos can arise for some characteristics of the process which effect is confirmed by both the Hurst index and the Lyapunov exponent.

KEY WORDS: wave transformation, dynamic chaos, periodic rectangular pulses, linear system
