Abstract
The multi-harmonic cubic-nonlinear theory of a plasma–beam superheterodyne free electron laser with H ubitron pumping is developed. The multi-harmonic interaction of waves, which plays an essential role, is considered. The analysis of the saturation levels is performed. It is found that prospects of practical use of the considered systems for generation of especially powerful electromagnetic signals of the mm-wave band could be rather promising.
KEY WORDS:electromagnetic radiation, free electron laser, plasma-beam instability
