Quantum Confinements of Particles in Nanostructure with a Complex Form Energy Profile

Abstract
The nanostructure containing the energy profile, which represents the rectangular quantum well with a rectangular cavity in the central part, is considered in this work. The action of the central cavity parameters – depth and width – on the energy spectrum of the particles in the main part of the structure is shown. The possibility to use the nanostructure with a complex energy profile as a resonant-tunnel diodes’ active region is studied.
