Abstract
Preliminary results are given concerning the possibility of reducing the amount of data recorded in a noise radar with coherent spectral processing. It is shown that a reliable estimate of the autocorrelation function of a signal representing the sum of the sounding noise signal and the echo can be obtained, using a greatly reduced sampling frequency. It is noted that the suggested approach is more efficient for narrow-band signals.
