Abstract
Securing navigation at sea, especially in recreation areas, is highly essential in detecting on the sea surface the small-size objects like inflatable rubber dinghies, rafts, swimmers including those pleating on inflatable beach mattresses. The currently available radar facilities are not capable detecting these types of objects at sea state No.3 In this context it was a stimulant to experimental studies into the specific features of signals scattered by the afore-mentioned objects and check out the capabilities of detecting them using different radar signal processing techniques.
