Total and Differential Patterns in the Whole Space of Observation for Corner Antenna Arrays

Abstract
Peculiarities of formation of total and differential patterns of the traveling wave corner antenna arrays in the whole space of observation are investigated. The effects of increasing the side lobe levels of patterns in the directions, which do not coincide with the main observation planes are revealed and the conditions for their occurrence are studied. It is demonstrated that in order to calculate the optimal angle between the sub-arrays, which provides for the maximal directivity gain the partial pattern can be used within the array plane.
