Abstract
The excitation efficiency has been analyzed in a hemispherical open resonator (OR) where the fundamental mode has been excited by the zeroth order Gaussian beam through a semi-transparent aperture of one of the mirrors. The functional applied in the research is used in the antenna engineering for determining the surface usage coefficient (SUC). The functional has proven to be suitable for estimating the oscillation excitation efficiency in OR.
