Complex Permittivity of Disperse Heterogeneous Systems and Their Components
The relationship between complex permittivity of two-component disperse system, volume parts and permittivity of its components is obtained. The method for calculation of volume parts and permittivity of hydrated inclusions in water solution is suggested.

On the Possibility for Total Conversion of the ÒE1-Wave into ÒE2- or ÒE3-Wave on the Cascade of Three Strip Diaphragms

Resonant states of wave scattering on a cascade of dissimilar thin multistrip diaphragms in a regular (rectangular or round) waveguide have been investigated. The possibility of the total energy conversion of the fundamental ÒÅ1 wave into the ÒÅ2- or ÒÅ3 wave by three diaphragms has been proved (including the obtaining of flat-topped frequency characteristics of mode conversion). Nontrivial retunings of the cascade into the pure inverse conversion have been found.

Application of Disk-Containing Quasioptical Dielectric Cavity Resonators for Investigating Two-Component Aqueous Solutions in Small Volumes

The paper presents results of experimental investigations of quasi-optical disk-containing dielectric cavity resonators with the capillary filled by a binary solution based on a lossy liquid component (water). Ethanol and acetone were used as the second component of the solution. As has been found, many features of the cavity’s eigenfrequency and Q-factor dependences upon concentration of one of the solution components which were measured for the water-ethanol solution, are well correlated with calculated values of the dielectric constant. The measurements were conducted at the frequencies 37 to 40GHZ for the HE whispering-gallery mode excited in the cavity. The investigated cavity resonator could be used as a cell for measuring characteristics of solutions in small volumes.

Errors of Determination of Complex Permittivity by the Method of Open-Ended Coaxial Line

Errors of determination of complex permittivity of a dissipative medium by the method of open-ended coaxial line are studied. The errors arise due to imperfect adequacy of used mathematical models for real probe geometry and its location in relation to a medium under probing.
