An Open Resonator with Two Conductive Cylindrical Insertions
The properties of H-polarized oscillations in a 2D open resonator containing two conductive cylindrical insertions are analyzed. The effect of a 1.5 to 2 order of magnitude increase in the diffractional Q-factor for the fundamental mode has been detected and investigated, which can be produced by conductive insertions of a sufficiently large diameter to allocate and provide for cooling of active elements in the open resonant cavity. A possibility is shown for the open resonator with two conductive insertions to be adjusted over a wide frequency range, while retaining the fundamental mode. Results of the electromagnetic modeling are compared with measurements.

Projection Matrixes and CFAR Detection of Signals in the Case of Unknown Covariance Hermitian Matrix of Interferences

Method of complex permittivity measurement by partially filled resonator is considered. The simplest model (transcendental equation) is used. Curves of H111- and H011- in dependence on sample permittivity and infill level are obtained.

Studies of Sensitivity of the Transport Radiation Monitoring System to Gamma-Emitters
Results are presented of our studies of the response threshold as a sensitivity characteristic of the transport radiation monitoring system (RMS) as a whole to gamma-emitters and fissionable materials. The detector of the system is made on the basis of a plastic scintillator with the total volume ~ 160 dm3 and frontal area S ~ 50 dm2. The RMS response threshold values were determined experimentally for gamma-emitters Co-60, Cs-137, Th 232. The RMS response threshold was considered as function of the mean-weighted energy of the detected radionuclide. Estimates were made of SRM response threshold values for radionuclides U-235, U-238, Pu-238. Limiting masses of nuclides and fissionable materials corresponding to the RMS response thresholds, were estimated.

Real-Time Audio Watermarking

A real-time audio watermarking scheme is proposed in which the strength of the watermark, embedded into the audio signal is limited to produce a watermarked signal perceptually closely similar to the original one. The proposed scheme uses a spread spectrum approach to embed the watermark which is generated by using a private key, and a blind detection algorithm to extract the watermark from the watermarked audio signal. Real-time implementación of proposed scheme is also given which only requires 70 MIPS. Evaluation results show that the embedded watermark is robust to common attacks such like D/A and A/D conversions, filtering, noise addition and high quality MPEG audio coding. Subjective and objective evaluation results are also given to show the quality of watermarked signal.

Experimental Research on Discharge Processes in Water Solution with Impurities

The paper presents results of examining the electric current influence on weak electrolytes being a lean solution of salts and acids in distilled water. Such lean solutions are similar to the natural water compound. While applying an external force, namely electric current, a series of features were revealed that were accompanied by corpuscular and electromagnetic radiation in a wide frequency band, including the hard photon radiation, and the ejection of spherical plasmoids into the atmosphere. Below, we offer a description of the experimental model, electric modes of influence on the aqueous medium, the timing of the discharge processes, concluded with a discussion of the results obtained. The paper is provided with a comprehensive state-of-the-art overview of the problem.
