Particular Features of Structural Linguistic Description of Communication Network Topology for Distributed Corporative Safety Systems

Particular features of a structural linguistic description of variants of communication network topology based on the use of the attribute grammars have been investigated for distributed corporative safety systems. A fragment of standard generative grammar is presented that describes the generation rules of variant multitude of devising a local communication network with a mixed topology.

Algorithms of Synthesis and Analysis of Filtering-Matching Devices at an Arbitrary Load and Signal Source Impedance

Algorithms have been constructed for a parameter determination of standard filtering-matching devices such that coupled between arbitrary-impedance components, they furnish a necessary matching tolerance in the pass band, a reasonable attenuation off the pass-band and a desired transconductance of the frequency characteristic.

An Ecologically Clean Over-the-Horizon Radar for Protection of Territorial Sea Waters

Over-the-horizon detection of above-water objects in the microwave band at distances that ensure protection of territorial waters from illegal fishing, goods smuggling and other violations is considered. The required radar parameters are determined using the results from the multiyear studies into wave propagation throughout different regions of the World Ocean. The existing radar systems have been analyzed in an effort to perform the over-the-horizon detection of above-water objects. At the same time utilization of these radars is shown to be problematic and may well pose a certain environmental threat. The application of a bistatic radar together with a buoyant active radio beacon installed beyond the radio horizon limits is suggested. An example of implementing the propose radar facilities is given, and the influence of an interference zone and rough sea conditions is examined. Conclusions are drawn regarding the utility of the suggested bistatic radars intended for enor on mentally friendly over-the-horizon detection of above-water objects and protection of territorial waters.

Using the Signals Reflected from Sea Surface for Prediction of Coverage Range of Marine Navigational Microwave Radars

Experimental dependence is established between the range of observation of reflections from sea surface ("illumination" zone) and detection range of above-water object in microwave band. Methods are suggested of diagnostics of coverage range of marine navigational radars beyond radiohorizon. Results are compared of the coverage range prediction with real data obtained experimentally in various regions of the World Ocean.

Terahertz Quasi-Optical Frequency Phase Shifter with Crystal Quartz Phase Sections

A frequency phase shifter (FPS) for quasi-optical transmission line with phase sections made of crystal quartz and polarizers executed on the basis of small-period wire gratings is considered. The FPS is intended for operation in terahertz (THz) frequency band at the frequency of f0 = 0.89 ÒHz. The influence of the differential phase shift deviation in the sections on the output signal spectrum as well as the influence of the sections mismatch upon the reflected signal spectrum are considered. In the frequency bandwidth of 5% f0 the levels of the spurious spectral components of the FPS output signal are less than -40 dB and the levels of the shifted and reflected spectral components of the reflection signal are less than -70 dB with respect to the level of the payload signal component of the shifted frequency.

Basic Q-Factor of Electromagnetic Modes in Semi-Opened Dielectric-Filed Waveguide Junctions

This work is the continuation of series of works on research of physics of resonant phenomena in waveguide junctions of various cross-section and to their using for measurement of material electric characteristics. The electrodynamic and numerical analysis of eigen Q-factor of electromagnetic modes of H-type (as the most high-quality) in waveguide junction of cylindrical - rectangular waveguides, filled by dielectric have been carried out in this work. The comparative characteristic of eigen Q-factor waveguide junctions of various cross-section was given: cylindrical - radial waveguides, rectangular - rectangular waveguides, cylindrical - rectangular waveguides. The recommendations on using of concrete type of waveguide junctions for measurement of dielectric losses of the certain materials were given.

Resonator System of Magnetron with Cells of a Complicated Structure

The application programs of the calculation of the indicative equations of magnetron resonator with a compound cross-sections cell are developed and marketed. On base of created algorithms the spectrum of the type of resonator oscillations with the system of equal resonators of the type "sector-sector" are investigated. Some advantages of using magnetrons with cells of the compound structure are analyzed.

Measurement of Electrodynamic Parameters of One-Dimensional Wire Gratings in the Sub-Millimeter Wavelength Range

The method is suggested for determining the transmission and phase shift of a passed wave through a one-dimensional wire grating at the field incidence on the grating being normal. The method relies on using the grating to be measured as an output mirror of a laser resonator at one end, and a 90o two-sided mirror at another. The measurements for various gratings have been performed experimentally by means of a sub-mm HCN-laser ( Ë = 337 mcm). The comparison was made between the experimental results and the theoretical calculations.
