ÒÍÅ DIFFRACTION OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC PLANE WAVE BY THE SYSTEM INCORPORATING THE GRATING WITH CHIRAL MEDIUM

S. B. Panin, A. Ye. Poyedinchuk

29-37

The strict solution of the vector problem for the electromagnetic plane wave diffraction by the system incorporating a one-dimensional periodic grating with chiral medium is obtained by using of the analytical regularization method. It is shown, that the scattered field contains the both polarization, when the normally incident wave has only one polarization. The presence of chiral medium which connects both polarization explain this effect. Also the characteristic especially of diffraction caused by chiral medium are studied. It is determined, that the resonance phenomena and the processes of the energy redistribution, when the quantity of the spreading waves in the media is essentially different, have considerable influence on the diffraction character.

V. N. Polupanov, E. M. Kuleshov, B. N. Knyaz'kov, M. C. Yanovskiy

42-45

By sequential application of the Jones matrix method signals polarization and spectrum on an output of revolving with a velocity http://ire.kharkov.ua/sbornik/Image51.giflinear polarizer (LP) are investigated. A monochromatic signal, polarized on a circle, with frequency http://ire.kharkov.ua/sbornik/Image52.gifis fed on its input. In case of an ideal polarizer the signal on the output consists of two orthogonally polarized on the circle components. The phase of the signal component, the polarization of which is identical to the polarization of the entering signal, is fixed. The phase of the orthogonal component is equal to http://ire.kharkov.ua/sbornik/Image53.gif. The sign thus is determined by relative direction of polarization rotation of the entering signal and the polarizer. The resumes of the phase frequency shifter (FS) performances analysis are expounded. The revolving a polarizer is used as a phaseshifting section. Waveguide FS on a waveguide of a cut 5.2x2.6 mm is realized and is investigated also quasioptical FS on the basis of hollow dielectric beamguide by a diameter of 20 mm with a revolving wire polarizing lattice are realized.

OPTIMAL FILTERING OF REFLECTED SIGNAL IN THE MEDIUM WITH DISPERSION AND ATTENUATION

Yu. V. Kornienko

74-77

The problem of optimal reception of the reflected signal is stated and solved, when the located object has a neglegibly small size and is placed in a medium with arbitrary dependence of the complex permittivity on the frequency. An expression for the mean square error in the determination of the distance to the object is obtained. It is shown that the accuracy of such determination depends only on the spectral density of the both signal and noise, but does not depend on the pulse form and the degree of its distortion in the medium.

NON-STATIONARY FINE STRUCTURE OF PHONON STIMULATED EMISSION MICROWAVE POWER SPECTRA IN SOLID-STATE RESONATOR UNDER INVERSION OF SPIN-LEVEL POPULATIONS

D. N. Makovetskii

91-98

The spontaneous splitting of microwave phonon stimulated emission (SE) modes has been observed in solid-state resonator of the autonomous acoustic quantum generator (phaser). The coexistence of regular and chaotic structures (CRCS) in the phaser active medium was revealed at multiple narrow intervals of static magnetic field detunings. The mechanism of regular fine structure creation is proposed basing on the Casperson-Yariv SE spectra renormalization model. The numerical experiments on CRCS investigation in a model system of the coupled bistable cells (carried out by using the discrete 2D-mapping) are demonstrating the fully deterministic nature of the CRCS phenomenon.

THE ANALYTICAL THEORY OF THE OROTRON WITH HARD EXCITATION

G. A. Alexeev

110-115

The analysis of the steady-state modes of the orotron with a uniform amplitude distribution is carried out on the basis of presentation of interaction power components by the sextic polynomials, which was obtained within the framework of the consistent approximation method by using the forcibly harmonized solution for the transient electron angle. It is shown that the soft or hard excitation modes are realized depending on the value of the relative transient electron angle. The analytical relations for the output generator characteristics are given, which describes the electron hysteresis effect. It is shown that the properties of the non-linear dynamics of the transient electrons are responsible for the electron hysteresis nature; and the variation of the average electron velocity in the interaction space is the immediate cause of the hysteresis.
