The properties of surface electromagnetic waves arising at à periodically rough ideally conducting boundary have been investigated. Energy losses for their excitation of à charged particle when crossing the boundary are found; à possibility of the surface wave instability in their interaction with à particle flow is predicted. The expression for the increment has been obtained.

The phenomenological two-dimensional model of quasi-optical resonator excited bó local coupling element having the form of an open end of the parallel-plate waveguide has been considered. The field magnitude in the resonator and waveguide, the excitation efficiency, the power output efficiency and other characteristics are calculated. The features of the open resonator excitation associated with radiation to free space are considered. Calculated data are compared with experimental data. The limits of using of the proposed model of the open resonator are discussed.

À rigorous numerical-analytical method for the high frequency fields analysis using the conformal mapping is considered. An analytical expression of closed form (without series expansion) for the fields is obtained. The fields singularity near the sharp edges of metal elements is rigorously described. The conformal mapping inversion is numerically implemented. As an illustration, the fields analysis of the synphase mode oscillations in periodic structures is discussed.

Based on à mathematical model of transient electromagnetic wave diffraction bó lossy layered dielectric structures, essentially the normal impedances method in the frequency domain and the discrete Fourier transformation to convert the solution to the time domain, à computational algorithm has been developed allowing physical characteristics of the diffracted field to bå analyzed numerically. General regularities of the diffraction field behavior have been established for different conditions, and the applicability of video-pulses for subsurface sounding has been demonstrated. Limitations on the sounding pulse duration are established in terms of the characteristic frequency dependences of the specific conductivities of natural media.

The electromagnetic scattering problem bó à fluffy system of the chaotically orientated clusters of spherical particles is considered. The scattering bó individual clusters is calculated precisely, whereas multiple scattering in the medium is calculated approximately. The coherent component of scattering radiation is considered bó way of interference of second-order scattering waves between individual scatters of different clusters. The examples of the calculation of enhanced backscattering phenomenon are presented.

The spin-phonon autostructures formation and generalized Poincare cross-sections of microwave power spectra (ÌÐS) in ruby phonon quantum generator (phaser) has bee experimentally studied. Significant ÌPS narrowing and their autowave-like superslow motions were observed under the conditions of periodic pump modulation outside of the phaser relaxation resonance domain. À theoretical interpretation such spatially- temporal structures excitation in spin-phonon system is proposed based on the antiphase mechanism of energy exchange between modes of stimulated phonon emission in the microwave acoustic Fabry-Perot resonator.

The results îf design îf packaged diffraction radiation oscillators (DGO) for CW and pulsing operation, that obtained in IRE Ukrainian Academy îf Science, are generalized. Features of à series of middle-output power DRO with short-term frequency instability, continuously overlapping wavelength range mm, are given. Parameters of high output power DGO in wavelength range mm for autonomous and non-autonomous operation àrå considered. Estimations îf achieved parameters îf packaged DRO bó expanding of power supply range are given. An opportunity îf design of pulsed DRO with kW in wavelength range mm is shown. The characteristics of low-voltage DGO with power supply less than 50 W are considered.

The processes that influence on the emission polarization diagram forming of the isotropy pumping dye lasers were theoretically and experimentally investigated. The rate system for the set polarization modes was used for mathematical description îf the generation process. On the basis of the numerical solution this system the gain coefficient and generation intensity dependences on the resonator anisotropy degree under the various pumping power were calculated. Experimental investigations of the polarization characteristics dependences on the same parameters for the rhodamine 6G laser were carried out.

À quasi-optical polarization attenuator based on à metal-dielectric square waveguide containing polarization wire gratings is considered. The inserted attenuation is 0...25 d over the frequency band 78...400 GÍz. The optimum sectional tapers for circular quasi-optical transmission lines in the form of à "hollow dielectric waveguide" (HDW) is discussed. At à minimum length, these tapers are capable of near-adiabatic transmitting à fundamental modå. À simple geometry of à circular truncated cone makes these tapers very easy in manufacture. The formulas to calculate the geometrical parameters and insertion loss àrå given. The performed analysis reveals that the circular tapers compare well with the linear and parabolic ones. With the wideband property kept, they have less overall dimensions and less insertion loss compared to the linear tapers. At à rather small quantity of the sections, their difference from the parabolic analogues is insignificant.

The results of the experimental studies of the millimeter waves range electromagnetic radiation (EÌR) effect în the development of the plants from the embryonal state are presented. The cases of the plants growth rate variability, developing from irradiated and not irradiated grains are considered. The discrete number of the stable states of à plant cell on the base of the ratio values of its surface tî volume S/V, influencing the cell division speed is depicted. The problems of Debye waves pumping in bioobjects by EÌR and excitation of topological solitons, which are capable of “switching" cells in the stable states with reduced or increased reactionary ability are discussed.

The experimental data on thresholds of degradation effects in integrated microcircuits resulting from the influence of external electromagnetic fields depending on the orientation of integrated microcircuits in relation to field. The physical model of metallization degradation în exposure to electromagnetic fields is developed. The causes of local metallization degradation are revealed and the conditions of occurrence “of a mode with an aggravation” are obtained. Dynamics of degradation effects is analyzed depending on à degree of heterogeneity of metallization and arrangement of non-uniform sites. The temporary and spatial characteristics of degradation in metallization are derived.
