Anatoly Kyrylenko (Kirilenko in publications) is the Head of department since 1982, when our department was found. He received Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in radio physics in 1970 and 1980, respectively, from the Kharkov University and the Professor Title in Radio Physics Rank in 1989. He has worked for IRE NASU since 1969. His research interests include analytical and numerical techniques for electromagnetic simulation, resonant phenomena in waveguides and gratings, general and problem-oriented software for microwave CAD. He is a co-author of three books, has published 150 papers and ten patents. A. Kyrylenko is a Senior Member of IEEE. In 1989 he became a Winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the Science and Technology.

Leonid  Rud’ is the leader scientist of the department. He received his Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in radio physics in 1976 and 1990, respectively from the Kharkov University. He has worked for IRE NASU since 1971. His research interests are mathematical modeling and investigation of the wave scattering by waveguide discontinuities, spectral theory of open waveguide resonators, software for design and analysis of frequency-selective devices.
